Division of Oral Medicine The Division of Oral Medicine actively contributes to the teaching, service and research activities of the Dental School. Areas of responsibility include: Teaching: The Division of Oral Medicine is responsible for management of predoctoral instruction in physical evaluation, infection control, clinical medicine, oral medicine, geriatric dentistry and Pharmacotherapeutics. The division also provides teaching support to numerous graduate level specialty programs. Service: The Tertiary Care Oral Medicine Clinic provides primary and consultative services related to the diagnosis and non-surgical management of primary mucocutaneous lesions, oral manifestations of systemic disease and other conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial region. Research: The division maintains a robust research program which benefits from both private and governmental grant support. Areas of emphasis include salivary diagnostics, cancer diagnostics, infection control and oral consumer product efficacy. The Director of the Vincent A.
