Robert Paul Langlais B.A., D.D.S., M.S., F.A.C.D., F.I.C.D., F.R.C.D.(C) is a Diplomate to ABOM, Diplomate to ABOMR, was the founder and director for the graduate division and is a professor with tenure in the division Oral Diagnosis & Oral Medicine. He earned his bachelor's degree from Loyola College in Montreal, Canada and earned his D.D.S. from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Langlais also performed a Pediatric Externship at the British Columbia Public Health Department in Canada and received an M.S. from Indiana University in Indianapolis. His academic background includes being an instructor in radiology at Indiana University, an associate professor and director of the divisions of Oral Diagnosis/Oral Medicine and Radiology at McGill University. Some of Dr. Langlais’s highlights include publishing thirteen first edition textbooks in seven languages; sixteen textbook chapters; eighty-three scientific papers; sixty + CE courses and 300+ presentations in all continents of the world. Grants and contracts focus on research, product evaluations and textbook development funds received either in cash or equipment for a total of $305,000; the results of these and other studies have been presented in thirty-three scientific abstracts. Some of the positions held by Dr. Langlais include Secretary General and Chairman of the Board for twelve years; International Association of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology Treasurer for six years; American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Vice President, American Board of Oral Medicine two years; and President, Academy Oral Diagnosis Radiology and Medicine, two years. Some of his proudest academic moments are having an educational video on dental radiology nominated for an academy award in South Africa; The Percy T. Philips Professorship, Columbia University; nomination to OKU; The President's Award for Teaching at UTHSCSA; and a number of Honorary Life Memberships and Fellowships in Foreign Organizations.
