S. Brent Dove D.D.S., M.S., a native of San Antonio, Tex., received his undergraduate education at St. Mary's University, then earned his D.D.S. from The University of Texas Health Science at San Antonio Dental School and then completed postdoctoral studies at The University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at San Antonio. After completion of his dental training he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Dr. Dove is presently Professor in the Division of Oral Diagnosis/Oral Medicine, Department of Dental Diagnostic Science at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. He is internationally recognized for his work in maxillofacial radiology and digital imaging research. Dr. Dove has authored over 50 scientific papers and abstracts in the field. He has received the Physician-Scientist Award from the National Institutes of Health and a Morrison Trust Award for his research. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, the International Association of Dento-Maxillo-Facial Radiology, the International Association of Dental Research. Dr. Dove serves as the American Dental Association's representative to the DICOM International Standards Committee.
